FAQs

Here are answers for some common questions about Simracing /Flying as well as how motion rigs can significantly help immersion and realism and even significantly reduce motion sickness issues related to VR for many.

What is a sim racing rig?

A sim racing rig is a dedicated setup designed to replicate the driving experience of a real car, complete with a cockpit, racing seat, wheel/pedal mounts, and often motion or force feedback systems for added realism.

Q: When should I invest in a motion sim rig instead of a static one?

A motion rig adds realistic movement (such as bumps, G-forces, and elevation changes) that a static rig cannot provide. This enhances immersion, improves driving feedback, and can even help with real-world racing training.

Can I invest in some partial motion Rig as full motion seems pricey?

Yes, Motion Rigs are complex built with precision setup & tuning and takes hours and hours to get it right.  Lots of labor goes into it in research, testing, tuning for different games and platforms.   Most motion rigs easily cost anywhere from $20,000 to $65000 and more! Our pricing for motion rig is highly competitive with best quality equipment and affordable at $9000+ compared those pricing.   If budget is tight , one can instead choose our Silver, Gold, Platinum static packages contain simulated vibration feedback equipment which can bring you partial motion sensation which significantly improves experience of just static rig.    The experience improves when additional haptic equipment is added.    We also have several users who had severe motion sickness with VR especially Dirty Rally or Auto Racing and reduced their motion sickness issues by over 98%.

What’s the difference between a DIY rig and a professional motion simulator?

  • DIY rigs are customizable and cost-effective but require more setup time and technical knowledge to get it right and precise.  Otherwise it can make your Sim Racing worse , doesn't matter how good of a frame or accessories it has.   Significant amount of time and research has been spent by our professionals for months and years to achieve custom tuning.

  • Professional motion simulators (like ours) come pre-engineered with high-quality materials, precise motion actuators, and plug-and-play compatibility for a seamless experience.

Can I add motion to my existing sim rig?

 Yes! Many of our motion platforms are designed to integrate with existing cockpits. You may need additional mounting hardware or actuator extensions depending on your setup.   If you don't already have a sim racing rig (non-motion) we recommend strongly you buy one from us, as our frame is constructed , tested and tuned specifically for the motion system.   We can work with existing frames, but compatibility could be an issue and it can take much more labor and time to precisely tune and setup.

How strong are your motion equipment?  Can they support good weight?

  • Our motion system supports up to 75 Kg ( 165 lbs per corner) which is at the higher end of the duty spectrum.   There are 4, so in total 300 Kg ( 650+ lbs).  This includes the weight of the frame, seat,  accessories, controllers, and even monitors.

  • To improve the life of the motion actuators, we recommend not loading them to the max.  So if you're a VR enthusiast (which is best for realism both in Auto Racing & Flying) you can shave significant amount of weight on the motion systems by removing multiple monitor mounts and monitors which can add significant amount of weight.

  • How it's mounted also plays a great role in weight distribution.   Our engineers have tested them with precise calculations to mount them for overall best weight distribution.

Can I use VR with a motion sim rig?

  • Absolutely! VR (like Meta Quest, Valve Index, HP Reverb and others) pairs perfectly with motion rigs for full immersion. Our systems are optimized for low-latency movement with special software to prevent motion sickness.

  • VR Experience is superior to racing / flying with monitors.  The immersion and realism is on the high-end, provided the software and graphics are configured correctly.

Does motion cause VR motion sickness?

  • When properly synchronized, motion enhances VR realism without discomfort. Our systems use high-refresh actuators and software smoothing to ensure movement matches in-game physics naturally.   Even just opting to buy our Static Frames (without motion)  with improved Haptics feedback , significantly reduces or even eliminates motion sickness.   This is because the more realistic the setup is, the more your senses believe that it is real, thus significantly reducing or eliminating VR motion sickness.  Our Rigs are low to the ground which already gives a race car seating experience combined with other Vibrations and feedbacks.

I already have motion sickness with just using VR.  Does your rig help?

  • Absolutely!  Even our static frames have reduced/eliminated VR motion sickness for many of our customers.  Our static frames start at $3000+ and even the base/silver setups still help significantly with VR motion sickness.   So if you have put some games for  long and couldn't experience in VR, buying one of our rigs can help you get back into VR racing/flying.  Our professionals when setup will assist in determining your motion sickness level and calibrate the feedback accordingly to reduce/eliminate sickness.

Which VR headsets work best with motion sim racing?

  • The best headsets for sim racing have:
    ✔ High resolution (for clear visuals)
    ✔ Wide FOV (for better spatial awareness)
    ✔ Low latency (to match motion feedback)
    Recommended: Varjo Aero, Pimax Crystal, Meta Quest Pro, HP Reverb G2.

  • However, our team has also tested Samsung VR series and they are also work well.    Also the higher the VR resolution, it's key that your computer should also have powerful GPU (Graphics processors ) and CPU to handle the heavy VR performance.  Recommended GPUs are Nvidia 4070/Similar or higher.  Gaming laptops with good GPUs can also work.  One of our testing laptops is MSI Raider GE68 HX.

Which sim racing games support motion rigs?

Most major titles do, including:

* iRacing

* Assetto Corsa / Competizione

* rFactor 2

* Project CARS 2/3

* F1 23

* Dirt Rally 2.0

* Automobilista 2

* Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020/2024

Our motion systems work with many simulation /feedback software, and direct game plugins for seamless integration.

Even if you don't use motion system and buy our static frames, they still work with various vibrations/haptics software and already come built-in.

For a complete list of gaming that's compatible with Haptics, check our Gaming Support Menu.

Do I need additional software to run a motion rig?

All our system includes vibrations/haptics support and comes built-in to support flying/racing.  However you can also use your own compatible software if needed.   Our software is already tuned for our system and it has extensive options to configure in both racing/flying.

Do I have to assemble everything?

No.  Our system comes fully assembled, tuned, tested and ready to hook up to your Computer, VR, Monitor etc as long as they meet our minimum requirements.   It is delivered directly to your home/venue with personnel there to connect/setup.   This service is only available in the San Francisco Bay Area.   We also consider other areas outside (Greater SF bay area ) for additional delivery cost.

How much space do I need for a motion rig?

Our non-motion system is 5.8 ft Long x 3.6 Wide.   When motion is added, you need minimum 1.5 feet of clearance on all sides for the rig to move.   It can easily fit in a corner of your bedroom or study room or garage.

Do motion rigs require maintenance?

Our systems are built for durability, but we recommend:
✔ Periodically checking actuator bolts and other screws/connections especially if you have motion
✔ Updating firmware/software

✔ Cautious and taking care when moving them

✔ Not full loading /overloading the rig with too much weight esp, if you have motion actuators.   Even if they support the load, the performance and longevity would be better with limited weight on them.

How about warranty?

Our system comes with 1 year limited warranty on the frame.   Any damage due to transport or impact is not covered including visible scratches and using other 3rd party add-ons or equipment or disassembling the rig.   The rig can be transported without disassembling.  All accessories, controllers, software warranty is directly covered by their manufacturers.   We will advise you to register them in your name for support.    You can also sign up for subscription-based support which we are working on to provide additional support and consultation and special configurations etc.   Based on the support tier, we even can have personnel assist you at your home/venue.

How long do these rigs last?

With proper care, they can last over a decade.
